  1. use a Miswak, it is permissible during fasting, inshAllah it works.

    but:

Imam Ahmad narrated that Al-Harith Al-Ash`ari said that the Prophet of Allah said,

"...Verily, the odor of the mouth of a fasting person is better before Allah than the scent of musk"

  2. If you can have a pebble in your mouth, how about a cardamon pod or something that smells pleasant while not edible?

I hope that you have an easy fast.

  3. When natives do their vision quest fast, they put a pebble in their mouth.

I don't know if it works for the breath part of it though.

  4. Binaca

  5. Some who fast, cannot, not at least drink water, due to health reasons.

Do not be so rigid, that you (any1) miss the point of the fast in the first place.

    Peace.

  6. Chew fresh parsley...

  7. well there is not much u can do other than brushing ur teeth and using mouth wash at Suhoor, a lot of scholars say u should avoid brushing ur teeth and using mouthwash  during the day since its most likely to break ur fast

  8. a pebble or marble will keep the mouth moist but you do not drink mouth wash you spit it out there for using it is not considered a breaking of the fast! unless you do swallow!

  9. As salaamu alaikum,

Just try to avoid getting right into someone's face I suppose. And, if anyone ever were to say, "your breath stinks," reply, "I'm fasting."

    From Fiqh-us-Sunnah 3.107a:

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, saying: "Allah said: 'Every action of the son of Adam is for him except fasting, for that is solely for Me. I give the reward for it.' The fast is a shield. If one is fasting, he should not use foul language, raise his voice, or behave foolishly. If someone reviles him or fights with him he should say, 'I am fasting,' twice. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad,

***the [bad] breath of the one who is fasting is better in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection than the smell of musk. ***

The one who is fasting is happy at two times: when he breaks his fast he is happy with it, and when he meets his Lord he will be happy that he has fasted." This is related by Ahmad, Muslim, and an-Nasa'i. A similar version was recorded by al-Bukhari and Abu Dawud, but with the following addition: "He leaves his food, drink, and desires for My sake. His fasting is for Me... I will give the reward for it, and for every good deed, he will receive ten similar to it."

  10. Disgusting.

  11. you could look into getting some kind of pill from a doctor if you have serious halitosis.  you could take it before sunup and it would work all day.  if you don't have a serious problem with halitosis then don't worry about it.  if you aren't eating, drinking, or smoking at all you shouldn't get bad breath.

  12. We can brush teeth whenever we want..Just take care not to swallo toothpaste..Even if you do that by mistake,it is fine..Afterall,Allah is looking into our hearts for intentions..Being over rigid is not permitted according to hadiths..

Also, there is no such thing as spitting around whole day..It is permitted to swallow saliva..The point is in not overdoing..

    Salam

  13. Since brushing your teeth does not break your fast, you may brush your teeth during the day. You can also use a "meswak." That way you won't have bad breath.

    Ramadan mubarak!

  14. Isn't there a hadith that says allah likes the smell, even more than musk?  Bad breath is good to allah.  The rest of us would prefer you brush your teeth.

  15. you can't my friend,no matter what they say it is un-avoidable..besides the breath is the essence of fasting so if you are going to do this there is nothing you can do..but rinse often, brush, and pray that the day is over fast..I wish you all the best..

  16. Just keep your mouth shut until Ramadan is over and done with.

Tip: Expel through your nose. Less smelly.

  17. Don't fast.... Allah will never get close to you if you have bad breath!

I know this is going to cost me -10 points, but what the heck I just gave you an answer from a human perspective....

  18. Get a tongue-scraper.

  19. doont eat onions

  20. Don't eat highly spicy food a couple days before.  Eat really bland foods.

Bad breath can be a result from what you are eating, so watch what you are eating a couple days before hand.
