I'm a hard hitter. I used Dunlop G300 with tension of 55 and I often break my string every two weeks. Is there anyway to make my string last longer.?

  1. Play tennis once a month and you will most likely break your strings twice a year. Just kidding!

  2. Well the thing to do is to look at what string you are using. It's usually more the heavy spin that will break strings quickly rather than if you hit the ball hard. This is why strings break a lot quicker when you play on clay (you are often hitting with more heavy topspin).

There are 2 main factors in the string that will make the strings last longer.

    1. The string itself and how durable it is.

    2. The guage of the string (how thick it is).

You could try using a thicker version of the string you are using, as this would make the strings last longer. However, you would lose a bit of the feel.

One of the strings that lasts longer than any is Luxilon Big Banger. This is quite an expensive string, but you will find that it does not break for a LONG time! A lot of the pros use this string.

Another thing you can do (which a lot of pro's do too) is to put the Big Banger in the mains of your racquet, and use another more responsive (and perhaps cheaper) string in the crosses.

Personally I use Big Banger Alu Power in my mains, and synthetic gut in the crosses. I have not once come even close to breaking the Big Banger mains since I did this!

    Hope this helps.

  3. if u go to tenniswarehouse.com then u will find a product called "string savers", they r from babalot but according to the reviews they last a long long time and dont cost too much
