How to avoid getting mugged?

i wear converses and i was wondering if i would get mugged since converses are kinda classics. so please let me know how to avoid getting mugged. please be serious and don't put anything like getting a gun or w/e.

Are you sneakers truly "hot", as in people are willing to steal them off your feet?  If so, the only protection is not to wear them in public, at least in high-crime areas.

On the other hand, you might be making an awful lot out of this.

Here's an idea: keep a little notebook and make a tally mark whenever you spot a person wearing Converses.  This will make you learn how worthless they are, and people will think you are a New Yorker if you just look at the floor.  Happy paranoia!

6. Cross out the word "converse" on your shoe, and write in "new balance" instead

is this a joke?  i mean i dont think ne 1 is that interested in your sneakers to steal them...u can buy them at target for like $20....if you're that worried dont wear them...but i doubt you'll have trouble..think ppl are more interested in the $200 and up sneakers...

I am a rather small female - I have been drunk off my a** (or worse) and ran around NYC back in the days when it was actually scary - never been mugged. Never needed a gun, etc...

Just relax and don't do anything foolish and you will be fine.

No one cares about converse tennies. You watch too much TV

1. Nobody is going to rob your Converse. They're $40.00 a pair. When they rob shoes, they're $150 basketball shoes, not emo shoes.

2. Don't walk around like a dumbass. Pay attention to your surroundings and be alert. Nobody's going to mug someone who's aware of his surroundings when they'll have a much easier time mugging the s*****k listening to his iPod and looking at the pretty buildings.
