How to avoid viruses on "stranger's" hard disks?

As you know, some viruses on hard disks can be avoided by accessing your hard disk from the address bar instead of double clicking on it at "My Computer", however is this applicable to ALL 'hard-disk based' viruses?

I have a large number of huge files that i want to send to someone but her hard disk has numerous viruses in it.

*These files are too large to burn.

  1. I think you should download an anti-virus program and scan her HDD for viruses first, and you can remove the virus your program detects from her HDD as well. But beware, some viruses can can be difficult to remove and it may cause you to have to reformat your computer..

Hmm..you could transfer the file to her by msn sharing folder although it would take ages. Or you could use someone's else's HDD before passing it to her.

    Good Luck! =)
