Question:

How to babyproof narrow kitchen drawers?

They are about 3 inches in height, and I cannot possible s***w in any latch. Besides emptying them out, I still wonder if there is any way to install some lock that will keep them closed and prevent pinching baby's fingers. Are there any instruments for drilling in such narrow spaces?

Also, do you think it will be safer to keep chemicals in top kitchen drawers locked with safety latch ( but the child still can climb on the counter to get there) or in the top closet shelf which is about 5 feet high from the floor and with no climbing place around?

Thank you for sharing your ideas.

  1. if the handles are wide enough for you to actually put your fingers behind to pull the drawer out you can stick a mixing spoon in the handle and "lock" several drawers at once. I ran out of cabinet locks and did this for my pots and pans cabinet for months. I ran a spoon through the handles and just left it there.

put the chemicals in the top cabinet with a latch. My 2 year old would find a way to get in the closet and get them.
