How to backcomb hair?

Question

I've heard that word tossed around a lot...what exactly does it mean?

And what is the best way to do it?

[Like a how to...]

And any general hair tips would be appreciated.

Backcombing gives your hair more volume.

It kind of means teasing your hair. You take a fine toothed comb and comb your hair up instead of down on the underside, where you can't see it.

It should give you more volume.
