  1. I do this all the time, with extra apples (and pears).... Just cut the apples into big chunks (you don't need to peel them) and put into a casserole dish (NO water added).  If you want to sprinkle some sugar or cinnamon on them, that's fine (or not).  Cover and microwave about 5 min;  open and stir them up.  If they need to be softer, then put them back in for another 3 min. or so (depending how many are in there).  You can mash them for applesauce, or eat them chunky

  2. You can peel and slice the apple and fry it in the skillet. To bake an apple without out anything it would get pretty dry.

  3. I have looked threw all my cook book and i can not find any just plain baked or cooked apple recipes or how to.

I usually use Cinnamon and stuff on mine.

But Just Slice them and fry them.

    So they are still juicy.

  4. If you bake you apples without some liquid they will just be dehydrated apple chips, and tastless.

    Baked Apples

    (makes 4 servings)

2/3 cup (78 ml) unsweetened apple juice

    1/3 cup (78 ml) water

    4 medium-size, 6 ounces (180 g) each, baking apples

    ground cinnamon to taste

    Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C), Gas Mark 5.

In a small pot simmer the apple juice and water for 10 minutes.

Core the apples and remove peel from the top 1/3 of each apple. Using a small spoon, remove and discard the core and seed. Place in a small baking dish just big enough for the apples. Pour apple juice mixture around the apples and sprinkle each apple with cinnamon. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the apples are cooked through but still hold their shape.

Place each apple in a small dessert dish. Top with 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of the cooking liquid. Serve warm.

hope this helps.          good luck and enjoy.

  5. Wash and core apples, then remove a 1 inch strip of peel around the middle of each apple. but I think it's better if you'll remove the seeds. I'm not sure if you really need to boil it since it'll make the apple taste-less. yuck! =)) LMAO
