  1. It sounds like you want to know about rusting. Please see

  2. the formula is based on the valency of the elements like

Water is formed as H2O because the oxygen require 2 electrons to complete its last shell which it can get from 2 atoms of hydrogen by covalent bonding.

  3. from the law of conservation of matter which states that:matter can neither be created nor destroyed in an ordinary chemical reaction.this implies that the number of atoms that is at the product side must be equal to that on the reactant side;by so doing it can be done in two ways;by inspection and induction methods.for example, the reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to produce steam;h2+o2-h2o;we know that hydrogen and oxygen are diatomic molecules, and the chemical formular for water is h2o;from the equation,we see that two hydrogen reacted with two oxygen and at the product side we have 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen to now balance this you put 2 in front of hydrogen and 2 in front of water also to become;2h2+02-2h2o it is now 4 hydrogen to get the 4 is just the product of the 2 at the front and the subscript 2 and two oxygen.for more enquires contact this email lanphiz_2004@yahoo.com.
