Question:

How to battle depression?

besides medication, talking, joking, what else. No matter how many ways I try, deep down I'm still depressed. Especially when I see certain things, certain situation, certain people...

  2. Pray by heart. I mean BY HEART. And if it is associated with someone, try real hard to erase that someone from ur mind. With full effort, i believe u can do it.

    If u r muslim, dont forget to perform Solat hajat as well. If u do it properly, i bet it may make ur prob vanished.

    Once u get in bed, start to say astaghfirullahalazim, subhanalah, lailahailallah repeatedly till u fall asleep.

    It works for me, hope it will work for u too...

  4. Have you watched "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"? Sleep with loads of women...hehe.....................doesn't work!

    And stop listening to soppy love song. Listen to some upbeat numbers that make you want to get up and dance or do something positive/naughty!

    Exercise...go to a gym and feast your eyes too. Exercise produces endorphins that makes one feel good. And the end result..you'll look good, too!

    Keep yourself occupied with activities, chores, outing with friends (not depressive or negative ones!) Leave yourself no time to dwell on unhappy thoughts.

    As cliche as it may sound, time is a great healer...trust me!!

  5. I m also suffering fr depression, n a severe one too. Until now, I solely rely on medication. Now at maximum dosage.

    Some say Yoga, some say Qiqong, some say Meditation can help. But I did try n they doesn't seem 2 work 4 me.

    I hv surrendered n accept whatever comes. Now too tired of hoping for a recovery. Last resort, ECT. Hv u tried ECT before?

  6. don feel depress la.. u can always talk to me de ma.. u have to know u feel sad now its becoz u been happy before.. being this sad somehow open a new perspective of life... think positively! bad things happened because there is good thing it wanna teach u..

    have a new things to see which make  u happy.. avoid certain situation that hurting u... and most of all meet new people! have a big big circle of frens but u have to choose good people..:)

    anyways,.. don be depress ya..

A Lot Of Things Will Affect Your Depression, And It Can Be A Sign You Need A Healthier Lifestyle.  Try Exercise, Run or Jog for 10 Minutes, Drink A Lot Of Water, Try Meditation, (Not Medication) Limit The Amount Of Sugar You Eat.  But Also, Try To Figure Out What Is Actually Making You Depressed.  It Could Be Something In Your Life, Or It Might Be Psychological.

  12. I've been in the verge of extreme depression from a tragic event in my family life.  God was my source of strength.  I surrendered everything to Him and miraculously, I'm ok now.  

    From your previous questions and answers, i kind of gathered that you are neither a Muslim or a Christian.  :) Am I far off?  

    So my suggestion might not be to your liking, hehe.  Still, I speak from the heart because I've been there.  Bless you!!:)

  14. If the source of your depression is that human being, stay away from her. Keep yourself busy. Medication alone doesnt help if your heart and mind are weak. Trust me, brain power is Number One. Talk to somebody if you can. Do not keep it in your heart. I used to spend my free time talking to messenger friends because medication doesnt help. Finally I plucked up courage to walk away from the source of my misery. Now Im as happy as clown. :D :D

    it's easier for women in handling depression cos we have TEARS.

    whenevrur facing certain thing/ppl which depress you, please, try to look at the bright side. let say, u take 1 pc of white plain A4 paper, and by using black marker pen, make a dot on the paper. now, look atthe paper...what do you see? usually ppl will answer "i see the black circle"...ni kan? we hhuman always forgot the 1000 of good deed after seeing 1 single small bad things....urghh..2.55Am i'm mambling....can't see my keybord it's dark in here! ta!

  17. Chocolates and lots of sugary stuff. If taht doesn't work, talk toBean, Gindy, ItsShowTIme or some YAMmer. It will cure you. Try to be more positive and things may turn out better

    Taking medication IS NOT a solution. Depression start from the heart and mind.

    Talking to others is a start.

    Try to enjoy the little things that you do. Just the small little things. Be with cooking, taking a leisure stroll around the park.

    I personally find playing with my son is a good way to relax. Unconditional love, you see.
