You have to be born in the time of feudal Japan. Get hired as a assassin or mercenary. You have to have no honor according to the Samurai class.

There are no ninjas today. There are those who train in ninjitsu. Some consider them ninjas.

You don't. Closest you can get is training in Ninjutsu (With a "u"... Want to know why? Because Ashida Kim made a big deal about it being with an "i"), and it's nothing like what you think. Most ninpo techniques I've seen and read photos of densho/makimono of end with escaping/running away. Being "ninja" isn't about killing people... It's about being a superior human being: killing the will to fight without killing the man; attaining mastery over yourself and your body; and protecting what's most important to you (normally, this is described as family, clan/community, and country).

The closest training you're going to find in the martial arts aspects of it are going to be through the X-Kans (Bujinkan, Genbukan, and Jinenkan), or in a more distorted form through Toshindo (Through the SKH Quest centers). First you got to train in Ninjitsu for certification of ranks in the style but I highly suggest you get a willing sparring partner to complete your ranking in the system and that you practice as much as you can to be highly effective in its application. But don't just limit your training to Ninjitsu combine other styles like Muay Thai, Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, or Submission/Catch Wrestling to make you a more complete fighter. The more you know the more techniques you can use against your opponent to save your life or win in a competition. If you want to make fighting using Ninjitsu a career SWAN is an organization that promotes Ninjitsu for modern combat and competition use. SWAN also hosts its own MMA tournaments and also sponsors Ninjitsu fighters to fight in MMA shows in the fighter's area.
