  1. : . I have to admit this interview bought tears

    '  to my eyes -

What an upheaval for ANY family - sell

EVERYTHING they own and start life again in

    new surroundings -

This family did more than just that - living in a

motorhome with limited space (in each others

faces 24/7) - limited money to live off whilst

your lifetime of savings & belongings are tied

up in an investment that really, gives no

    gaurantee to it's outcome and/or benefits !!!!!!!!!

Whilst we all admire the talent of Casey, you've

gotta admire his parents more - to believe in and

encourage their Son's dream to the MAX.

On the flip side - they could have just ended up

on the 'Pushy Parents' series !!!! (LOL)

    Here's another one to admire - x*x -

  2. Fantastic interview.

Just like everything on Soup's site.

On my " answer to becoming a motogp rider " I even said about having parents willing to give up there life's / homes/ everything. This way, you hear it from the horse's mouth.

  3. WoW...................................

Everytime I read a story like this I get mixed fillings-sorrow for the hard past and real joy that hard work and sacrifices are paying off.

I've never asked a question "how to become proffesional rider" but I am happy I understood how much it takes.

High paid sports are like this -lots of competiton, lots of money and sacrifice for youth preparation but the harder it is ,the sweeter and more meaningful it becomes after you make it!

  4. Hmmm - not usually cynical, but seems a bit strange that he has done this sort of interview after all the bad press he got after Laguna. I hope I'm wrong.

I've heard lots of mixed things about Casey's "rags to riches" story - from having to clean windows to get a few dollars together or - on the flip side of the coin - they had an estate worth AU$8million and sold it to buy a small holding worth half that and travelled to England in a rather large motorhome. Who knows.

As long as he stops complaining about "real" racing and gets on with it and produces (along with the rest of the paddock) a few more battles like Laguna - I'll be happy enough. :)
