  1. People are telling you to go to California because that's where Disney casting happens.  You can absolutely become an actor where you are and that's what I would recommend especially to get started but Disney will most likely not happen for you where you are.

Get yourself into real acting classes (no John Robert Powers, John Casablancas, or anyone who comes up to you in the mall or other shopping area)  Build up a real resume.  You ned theatre roles, independent film roles, student film roles, spec commercials, anything legit that will give you credit and reel material.  Network with people while you are doing this.  Make good connections.  If people like you and think you are truly talented, they may give you a referral to their agent or an agent they know.

Once you've done all that, you submit your headshot and resume to agencies in your area or the area you are moving to letting them know the dates you will be in town for meetings or the date you are actually moving.  This is not an overnight process, it takes years.  Be patient but keep at it and you can make it happen for yourself.

    good luck,

  2. No one ensures you success (only scammers!) and not even going to CA. First, make yourself clear if you want either a JOB or an artistic activity that will make you happy. If you want to be "famous" to make money, you should differentiate that being notorious is not necessary being talented, or, even worse, it will make you compromise many ethical things that you might not like to do or act in plays that you dont really like. The commercial circuit not always cross roads with the pure artistic lane, so you have to be focused in what you deeply wish. Be professional. Fame is something that can or cannot be there, but at least you will do what nurture you. Best of luck.

  3. sorry but 90% of the stuff you see on television is filmed in CA. you'll just have to make a name for yourself in local theatre.

  4. I would rarely advise an aspiring actor to go to LA or to NYC. My method of becoming an actor starts right where you are, getting all the acting experience you can in school and community theatre. When you indicate that you may have talent by doing several good roles with some acclaim, you should look for a professional acting studio where you can take a couple of classes, then keep building your resume with these two activities and when it is good enough, try to get an agent. If you want to become a teen actor, it is imperative that your parents get actively involved in the activities I described. They have to sign for your agent and any pro work you do until you are 18. If you get a good name as an actress where you are, Disney may come looking for you.
