How to be a better Go player?

One of my friends is really good at Go and I want to learn to play well so I can finally beat him, but he's bad at playing teaching games and I don't know where to look to find out how. So does anyone know an online site where I can learn how to play better or learn good tactics/techniques?

The only way to become good is to keep training.

The only way to know learn the game is to play blindly with someone who knows the rules.
