  1. The biggest thing to be a corner is your awareness and reaction time.If your playing runningback your not slow so you got the speed so that will make up if you get beat. But you got to have a quick burst and good reaction time.Covering someone yard for yard is very difficult but if you can have a good reaction time it can really go a long way.If you have trouble keeping up with a reciever then move back and play somethin called a cushion coverage.Your basicly keeping the reciever in front of you at all time so once the ball is thrown you can get too it or him quick but you cant give you much space.Another thing is knowing body position. If your covering someone and he makes a cut you need to read that before otherwise you go one way and he goes the other way.

  2. I play cornerback and there is 2 different ways of covering: man-2-man and zone.1st man-2-man: if the receivers faster then you u got to make sure to start maybe 6 to 7 yards out and to the outside of him because you never want a receiver to get behind you for a long td which ur coach will chew ur butt about. watch his chest when he is cutting because he can fake with his eyes. zone is basically covering ur area and making sure no one catches a pass in it. when ur receiver lining up on ur side cuts in you yell "in" which lets the linebacker or whoever is in the middle knows a receiver is coming. number priority  is not to let receiver beat you deep. i hope i helped you but me hands is cramping up. good luck!

  3. here are some basic tips

    - start about 5-7 yards away from the line of scrimmage

    - turn to face the quarterback and take 2 shuffle steps on the snap

-these shuffle steps will help u determine the route ( if the quarterback takes a 3 step drop it is usually a quick route, with the exception of the fade. if it is a 5 step drop it is usually a longer route like a post or a curl)

    - if the wide reciever already beat you don't look back for the ball, wait until thier hands go out to catch the ball and swat it away

    - if you have to jam the WR on his hip (if you want him to go outside hit his inside hip, if you want him to go inside hit his outside hip

-don't worry about your size, im small to but just hit the weight room and work on hops n on gameday you'll be lightin them up

  4. it doesnt matter how tall u are you just got to be fast i was a cornerback and safty and running back im 5 ft 3 90 pounds this was in middle school last year

  5. Always go for the man first, unless your swat/interception is a sure thing, take the guy's body. The gain will only be to where he caught it but if you go for the ball and miss the gain will be even bigger.

  6. watch the guys hips. if you are covering him tight the QB wont toss it your way. His body will go whatever direction his hips are so just watch them

  7. Best thing I can tell you is just watch the reciever and stick with him. Don't worry about the QB or the ball. Just read the WR's body language and eyes and you will know if the ball is coming.

  8. a good technique is to stay low at the break that way you can adjust to what the reciever does then from there just follow him and try to stick with him.. you should probably work on you break away speed and on sprinting..
