How to be a football coach?

im gonna be a junior in high school and i love football. im not the best player in the world but i love the xs and os. i would really like to become a divison 1 football coach how can i start on this path

  1. You start as an assistant coach for any team that will have you.  Probably as a volunteer and probably for little kids.

    You do a really good job and advance to head coach at about the same level.  Then, if you produce good athletes and good teams, you move up in age levels.

    While doing that, you go to school.  You get a degree and play in college if you can.  You take coaching courses through your league.  You learn all about the science of coaching and all about your sport.  You study what makes great athletes and great coaches.

    One day, you get on as an asst. at the college level and work your up.  If you're really good (it's not luck) then you get a shot as head coach somewhere.  

    So, start where you are with some kids and a local league.  Do it for the love of the sport and not for money.  Do everything you can to produce exceptional athletes - that means learning everything you can about coaching and truly caring about your athletes.  That's where you start.  Ã¢Â˜Âº
