  1. Rugby, beleive it or not, is called a gentlemans game.

also one, if not the, greatest sport ever. here's why:

get into rucks, and kick the living h**l out of ppl. tackle fools so hard they cough up their kidneys and livers.  get into scrums, kick ***, and start taking names.  clear a ruck so bad that they dont want to go back into a ruck all game.  hit someone so hard they never want anything to do with catching that ball again.  and do it all with a shut mouth and straight face.  dont say one word to the guy, no matter what kind of **** he talks.  if a teamate gets into a fight, you go and tackle your teamate and cover him with your body, passively win the fight.  the best **** talking the ref does for you: "try awarded."

but after the game, shake hands, be a great guy, drink beer with the other team, and get schmammered together.  congratulate on big hits and good tackles, and good players.

thats why rugby kick so much ******* ***.  work hard, kick ***, then go get drunk with ur best mates.  what more could a man want?

  2. don't fight with your opponents, respect them, but still, do your job and knock them hard, play hard, follow the rules. Dont insult anyone, also, just don't litter the field after games or whatever, do the gentlemanly thing and clean up, don't act rowdy in the way where you tick everyone off and vandalise stuff. If you want to be rowdy with the team, do it while keeping it to yourselves.

  3. The key to this is respect.

By all means, play the best rugby that you can and feel free to drive through your opponents on the way into the try-zone. But obey the laws of the game. Avoid penalties, tackle your opponents low and cleanly, and when the situation permits, help them up afterwards.

Rugby is a game of barbarianism, but at least in my league, it is this respect that keeps the game clean and fun.
