How to be a good rower?

So... I've been checking out the olympics and those dudes rowing are fit!

I genuinely wanna know how to start off in the sport. I dont know if I'll be good at it.. but I've rowed a couple times in a surf rescue boat and I've ridden a bike class 6 times a week for a couple of years so my cardio health isn't bad... and even if I do say so myself I look mighty damb fine in my spiderman lycra suit..... so I think I'd look just as good as those blokes in the rowing teams there with their goolies sticking out! (lol .. that last bit was an attempt at humour I'm a reformed troll... honest)..

So what do you say? Is there a club I should join in Sydney or what's the gig?

  1. icy, just start with badminton and work your way up slowly, lol

  2. You need to check your national web site for a local rowing club in your area.  Most national rowing web sites have a link for local clubs.  Most local clubs will have a beginner class for those who are interested in starting the sport.  Also rowing is a total body workout.  It is one of the hardest sports physically and that is why rowers are always so fit.  It really tones your body.  Check out: http://www.rowingaustralia.com.au/homepa...

  3. 2000 meters of the ergometer
