How to be a great diplomat?

I want to be a diplomat someday.

Learn a foreign language.  Never listen to a Neocon.  Don't work in a middle eastern country.

You will need at the least, a four year degree in a related field; International Relations, Political Science, Foreign Affairs, etc..many folks have graduate degrees. It helps to be confident, smart, articulate, outgoing, and personable. Check out the State Department website and read up about the job description. There are a few different tracks you can follow within the diplomatic arena. www.state.gov

You have to join the Foreign Service.  Look it up at www.state.gov, the US State Department site.
