I work at Outback Steakhouse and on Saturday I'm schedule to be a front of house manager even though I've never done it before. I'm a little nervous especially since it's my first time on such a busy day. I'm not sure what I'm doing...any one have some pointers?? Also, what am I supposed to wear?

  1. Basically you will be monitoring the host stand, running out cook-ups and re-cooks while performing damage control.  You may have to help the bussers if they get overwhelmed, and make sure you are available to the servers to adjust their checks for any comps or discounts.  Khaki's and a button down long-sleeve shirt for attire.

  2. Greet people at their tables and ask them how everything is going if you have time.

Assist the servers in getting everything out and whatnot.

Handle complaints politely and offer to make things right.

Wear khakis and a polo or whatever the other managers wear.

    Good luck!  you'll do fine.
