Don't blow your education just to be cool, be yourself, join clubs and organizations to meet people with similar interests, (not a 'gang'). If you want to just be cool you can find yourself in 5 years without a diploma and no job, no future and friends that won't know you anymore. I see it happen every year, I teach High School, there are always about a dozen or so "cool" kids who panic when they become seniors and realize that even the military won't take them, they have either not enough credits or the wrong ones to get a diploma, the group I work with are 2nd and 3rd and the occasional 4th year seniors, Many of them we have to teach junior high classes to before they can re-take or take the high school classes that are required. All because they would rather hang with their buds and be cool.

I am in the ninth grade,  so I speak from experience.

GETTING ALONG WITH EIGTH GRADERS

~If eighth graders call you "sevvie",  don't argue against it.  It'll make you look foolish.  Don't look bothered by it either.  Just smirk.

~Try making friends with eighth graders.  It looks good to others.

~Don't act like you own the world.  I'm warning you,  eighth graders will not be happy with this.

~Wear nice clothes.  There is a lot of bullying and picking on in junior high revolving around what you wear and how you present yourself.  This doesn't mean you have to shop and a&f,  hollister,  or whatever.  Just go to school with clean,  stylish clothes.  Don't look like you just pulled something out of the hamper.

~Spray a wee bit of cologne/perfume on.  

~Wash your face.  Nobody likes acne.

~Don't pick on anybody.  It'll make you look bad.

That's basically all you have to do.  It's not much,  but it works!
