My friend is very emotional. She constantly feels angry and sad. Her father died when she was nine, she is 18 and all her friends from her old school have finished school and are exploring the world and she still has another year. She feels like she is missing out and that her childhood has been wasted. Her mother also relies on her and she has a lot of pressure to look after her brother. What would make her happy, she has one year left of school and needs help to get through it without constant emotional breakdowns. what are ways to improve her emotional state.

  1. a good way to keep your mind away from bad places is to exercise. it keeps your mind occupied and it stimulates the release of feel-good chemicals in the way certain drugs do. not to mention that the healthier your body is, the better you feel inside.

  2. look for a good counselor ..

  3. a cruise would ease her mind. a skydive would open up new perspectives. if time is a factor, call your local skydive dropzone. if she is not into extremities than book a small cruise. however, in my opinion skydiving would have more of a positive effect.

  4. she still go up the hill which is rather tiring

tell her once she reached the top , the world belongs to her

also warn her when coming down hill to love more cos is limited

  5. Stop finding meaning in life and start living it.

Life is to live and every meaning seems a waste in the end.

Ask your friend to accept what has happened and start living a fresh.

  6. Being a loyal friend to her as you have been.    Your friend is lucky to have you as most people unfortunately try to avoid people who are angry and sad.

Everyone's life has ups and downs and sometimes the down times are the times we grow the most.   She can explore her spirituality at this time and learn to get help from others who also have gone through tough times as we almost all have.   If you can somehow tell her to stop focusing on how unhappy she is she will stop adding to her suffering.   Helping others can be a good stepping stone for her, perhaps volunteering to help others who have it worse could be an excellent start.
