Question:

How to beat the depression?

This past weekend, on the 23rd, we took my big brother to college.

We were really close, and spent as much time as possible together.

Now everything is different..my parents and my self are all depressed, and I found it difficult to enjoy my birthday today because of my brother not being here. Whenever someone mentions him or I see a picture of him, I cry...do you have any ideas on how would be best to get over this...soon? Or will it just have to wear off? We are taking a friend on vacation with us this weekend, and I'm sure she would appreciate it of I was my normal, cheerful self..

  1. Talk with him on the phone, email or text him, or write him a letter each week. It's normal to miss a family member who goes away to school, relocate or off to war. It's because you love him and are close. It will get better ... time helps.  Make plans to visit on parents weekend, homecoming or at some point in the time between now and holiday break.

  2. That's not depression. You just miss your brother. It's completely normal. It's apart of life .... and I don't guarantee anything will make you "really" cheerful but time.

Write him OR call him. Spend time with your friends.
