How to beat the line at Sally's Apizza in New Haven, CT?

does anyone have any tips as to how i can beat the line at this famous pizzeria located @t Little Italy in New Haven, CT...i want to take my wife but the other day i decided to try it beforehand and i stood in line for an hour without any progress...and when the line finally moved little did i know that the one person standing in front of me was holding spots for 7 other people! Not counting the huge groups that were in front already...

You can call ahead if you want the pizza to go.  Or, if you become a regular, you can get the secret phone number and they will hold a table for you.  If you go on a slower night, like when it's raining or when the colleges are not in session, then you might be able to call and reserve a table.
