My husband has detailed cars for 9yrs. and for the last 8yrs. he has done Panitless Dent Repair. He is self employed and chases hail storms. He would like to change his profession to a Castastrophe Insurance Adjuster. He already knows how to write car estimates and deals with customers face to face. He is wanting to know where to start. Do you go through training, school, or just show them you have the experience to do it? Where do you start and who do you call?

  1. He becomes an Insurance Adjuster.

Regular old adjusters are the ones who do "catastrophe" adjusting...it wouldn't make sense to hire people they only use once a year or less.

  2. You have to pass a test in the state you get licensed in, he can find the info at his state insurance department website.   Then he has to market himself to the local insurance companies, which is harder to do.

It's much easier to get the licensing, than the free lance jobs.
