Hi everyone thank you so much for taking the time. Please, those who had applied to TTC or are currently working as TTC drivers tell me the process of applying. I know I gotta drop a resume! But tell me what kind of people they prefer. what I should prepare my self for to have the best chance of getting in. I heard it's not easy but I'm determined. Please list all the tests I need to go through; the kind of interviews; all the qualifications I need. And just some tips and pointers. I speak English as a secondary language, is this acceptable? .I'm 23. Thank you all again. God bless.

  1. Hey there - this link is from the TTC website, under Job Opportunities for being a Transit Operator, http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/jobopps_operat...

It lists their basic qualifications, driving requirements, pay + benefits & you can download an application form in .pdf format too.  I'm not sure about the tests, etc.  Your best bet would be to go to a Job Fair (the link is http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/jobopps_jobfai... check back often, there doesn't seem to be any right now) for more comprehensive information.

Speaking English as a secondary language is acceptable: it's discrimination if they don't hire you because of THAT!  As long as you speak English/write well enough, then you should be okay.

You could probably email them a question at jobs@ttc.ca, but I'm not sure if they'd reply because that seems to be the email to send your resume in, & they don't have a phone number for their recruiting dept, just a fax number.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. They're taking applications for late 2008 so good timing.

    Best of luck to you!

    Cheers~
