Question:

How to become a Travel Consultant?

I am currently a receptionist/service co-ordinator for a forklift company. I would like to enrol in a course (outside of work hours) to become a travel consultant to work somewhere like flight centre. Can anyone provide me with information on how i can best go about this? I currently live in Townsville Australia, but am moving to Sydney. Also... any ideas on how much this occupation pays?

Thanks.

  1. they pay well and i've heard nothing but good things about them from those who work there. go to flightcentre.com and apply for any open positions for trainees in sydney.  they do their own training and the one person i talked to who had done her own course beforehand said it didn't do much good or make much difference in getting a job with flightcentre.  what kind of job kinda depends on whether you've traveled or not. but there are other than actual travel sales and services.  good luck!
