How to become a animal control officer?

i need to know how to become a ACO in Wisconsin. everything and anything would be very helpful

Most entry level officers will be put on animal control for a few months while they learn the layout of the city. However, to stick with that, I have no idea what is required.

In my state, Massachusetts, anyone wanting to become an Animal Control Officer is also qualified as a regular Law Enforcement Officer.

That means that they go through the same Academy, training, and exams.

However, it may be different in your state.  I would suggest for you to contact your local Police Department (business number!), and ask them about it.

Go to the human resources building in your county/city and check for job listings for animal control.  You should be able to then request an application.  They will then call you if they are interested.  Also goto local animal control and request a ride-along.
