  1. When you are in a play and you have to read a part study your character. What my dad always tells me is to become that person like Robert De Niro or another famous actor or actress might. Sometimes I do that to. Im focusing so much on the lines and trying to memorize it that I'm not becoming that person.

  2. Study on your own.  Your public library is full of books like - Acting for Directors, biographies of successful actors and actresses.  Do research on your characters.  Talk to your Drama instructors at school.  Edit courses at local colleges.  Get a job to earn money to support your dream.  The mark of a successful actor is being someone else, and immersing ones self in the character, while using your life experiences to enhance the character.

  3. You could record yourself saying a monologue, and watch it. You'll see what you did wrong, and you'll be able to fix it. Then try recording yourself again, correcting the mistake. And keep going until you think you look better.

You can always upload videos on youtube and people there will tell you what you're doing wrong and how to make it better. (You can even post the link to the video in a question on Y!A and get feedback from fellow actors)

    Good Luck
