I REALLY wanna make our school's 7th grade field hockey team, so I've been practicing outside a lot. But, is there anything I could do to make me BETTER? Like, any drills or anything?

Please help me, you don't know how much I want this.

  1. practice drives, slaps, push passes, pull rights and left. if you could get some of your field hockey friends together and practice together. :]

  2. I would suggest also picking up ice hockey.  Then eventually you will discover that playing on ice is far superior, than running on a field with an umbrella shaped stick.  Then you will find true happiness and start dating the best looking guy in school, and everyone in the cafeteria will lift you up in the air, while chanting your name, and pronouncing you next years homecoming queen.

  3. I would recommend practicing your stick skills on a turf surface or maybe a tennis court because the faster surface increases the level of skill a lot faster.  Along with that, having a strong drive will really make you stand out, along with some fancy moves.  Try fooling around with some air dribbles when you have free time to show your hand eye coordination.

these are some specific skills if you want to practice these

Another way to make a good impression is to be in better physcial shape than everyone else.  I would work on lowering your mile time, doing push ups (with a good form) and crunches.

Practice lots of lifts and learn to control them!!!!!!!!!!

I made varsity as a freshman, and athleticism was a big factor.

    I hope this helps!
