I have been a voter, but now would like to really get involved in politics, since my babies are grown. I know it is a little late this go around, but feel I could be a strong helping force in the next one, as my knowledge keeps widening, and my wisdom is from lifes experiences.

  1. Like Trevor said you'll need to start by getting involved with your political party at a local precinct level.. this is where you start by running for delegate for your precinct.

As the levels build the difficulty in getting elected increases...

I am currently a state and congressional district delegate... National delegate slots are near impossible for a newcomer.

  2. You need to become involved in your party's political organization.  That will allow you to establish the contacts and prove your dedication to the party's platforms.  Ultimately, the party decides the delegates since it is their convention.
