  1. it does sell. but all you need is a good voice, artists like rihanna, and hilary duff.

although you should invent your own style too (:

  2. most people do

in the music industry, there are song writers and producers who give their material to other artists so they can sing

most singers don't even right their own songs, but the money mostly goes to the song writers, so even if you are a famous singer, the song writer will be richer

  3. The last thing the music industry needs is another idiot that just wants to be famous. True musicians are in it for the love of music, are passionate about music, have played dives and bars and worked up to Wembley with talent and passion.

With your attitude, you don't have to worry about it, you'll fall on your face. David Bowie, Mick Jagger, and other legendary musicians, couldn't write songs either but they didn't whine, they learned the techinical side and had passion that made the emotional side, creating stunning music. They poured their hearts into it and lived it, through the rough times when they had to eat spam and sleep on the floor they stuck with it and became what they are today.

Little brats who just want to be famous right now and whine for everyone else to do their work for them so they can take credit, will ultimately fail, hense why Disney stars fall so fast. The legendary musicians that have been around for 20 - 30 years and are still famous, selling out stadiums, and making a living as a musician - Bowie, Rolling Stones, Duran Duran (their new album Red Carpet Massacre is amazing),  Madonna (also has a new album), Bon Jovi (who does tons of charity work), etc... they made it through trial and error. They worked dives, bars, they kept writing til they got a hit, they did their own wardrobes and hair, created their own image and niche, put out their true personalities (not a manufactured image), tour for months at a time on a bus, do their own soundchecks, write their own music, do dozens of interviews a week, and handle the business themselves. Duran Duran & Bon Jovi have thier own corporations, studios, jets. Real bands handle 90% of their careers by themselves. Disney manufactured jokes are puppets that say what their told to say and do what their told to do, show up where their told, sing what their told, and aren't allowed to (or don't know how to) think for themselves.

  6. gyrene71 is right. many musicians don't write their own songs. they hire others to write the song for them, then the musician sings it. Usually, on albums, it says the song and who wrote it. if the people like the song, it'll sell.

  7. Don't become a singer just to make money nobody will like you then..
