  1. Take the Red Cross lifeguarding class (call the red cross or local pools to find out where it is offered) then start applying for jobs! Its a great job to have, I have been a lifeguard for a 4 years in washington state.  If you live near Madison Park, I believe the Seattle Tennis Club in Madison/Washington Park is hiring.  It would be a great place to work!

  2. You need to get certified and then apply for a job.

Ask a pool director were to get trained

  3. Most local city owned pools require you to be Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid. Generally, you can sign up for a Lifeguard Training course (LGT) that will certify you in these categories through the city which the pool is in. At this point in the year, however, most pools will not be hiring and will most likely not be offering any LGT classes until before the next summer starts. If you ask the manager of the pool you are interested in working at they will have exact details.

  4. go to local pools and ask if they are hiring.
