  1. Contact your local Red Cross chapter- They will often host Lifeguard training classes. Prices range from (what I've seen) $100 to $250. You can expect this from training:

    - Training to use an AED

    - Learning effective CPR

    - Lifeguarding skills

    - Rescue operations

Standard pre-tests include: 300 yard swim, and retrieving a 10 lbs. brick from the bottom of the deep end.

    Good luck!

  2. the best thing to do is become american redcross certified and after that most likey any pool job will hire you because u will b a certified lifegaurd

  3. I think that you have to take a certified life guard class by the Red Cross to become an official life guard, and then you have to take the class again after a few years to brush up on your skills.

  4. get in touch with ur local beach park district or just ur park/pool district. they usually dont require anything since they train you anyway, but its good to have some strong swimming skills and first aid experience. the jobs fill up fast, but good luck! :]
