Question:

How to become a manager at Chili's?

I have been working at the Chili's bar and grill for about six months now, so far the only positions I have worked have been busser and dishwasher. If I want to become a manager, what is a good way to go about it. What could I do differently that would allow the General Manager to notice me as manager material?

  1. No one is going to consider a busser or dishwasher for a management position.  You need to get a different position if you ever want to be considered.  Try being a server or something.

  2. I agree, you should ask to be a cook or a server and learn all you can about all of the restaurant's operations. Also, volunteer to fill in for absent co-workers and at different locations. Stand out from everyone else.
