How to become a meteorologist?

i've been thinking about becoming a meteorologist and was wondering what degrees to get?

  1. Well, you'll need to major in meteors!  :-)

    (sorry, couldn't resist!)

    I think most meteorologists have a degree in atmospheric science.


  2. You have to take tons of maths classes in meteorology.  Basically you will have a minor in math when you are done as well as a major in meteorology.  You will also be taking some physics classes as well.  

    I'm going for a doctorate in meteorology and when I am done I will have a major in math, major in meteorology and a minor in physics.

    If you are still in high school MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PRE-CALC AND PHYSICS.  I didn't and it has screwed me over right now.
