How to become a nurse?

I want to become a children's nurse but i'm not sure how, i'm gaining my NVQ2&3 in health & social care qualification then what? do i have to go to university or is it all in hospital work? and how long is nurse training?

  1. You can go to university to either study a degree or diploma.

    You start off on the same band when you qualify, degree work is slightly more advanced,

    it's a 3 year course and you will attend placements as 50% of your course and 50% is theory.

    The first year will be a common foundation programme, then the following year you will specialise into your chosen field, in your case it will be Childrens Nursing.

  2. Yes, you do have to go to university! usually it's 2-4 years and you will have some of the training in hospital but you have classroom training first. Good Luck and don't give up!
