The first link below is the definitive resource on becoming a park ranged.  The site is part of the Nation Park Service online as well.

The link includes everything from suggested fields of study, to an online job application, to contacts at specific national parks.

One of the better ways to become a park ranger is to have some law enforcement background, coupled with a degree in some aspect of conservation.  Such as forestry, land management, fire control, history, wildlife studies, environmental sciences, etc.

One of the best things about being a park ranger is that most of the time you are living in the park itself.  Thus you get a total "immersion" into what life in that park is like.
