  1. Go to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections website and fill out an application. You will have to take the Civil Servants Exam and if hired you will be required to do 6 weeks of training in Harrisburg. You will have to stay at the facility during the week but can go home to visit on the weekends. You do not need a degree in Criminal Justice but it would certainly help, and military experience does give you extra points on your test. Good luck to you!

  2. you will probably need a two year degree in criminal justice, then apply.

Cant have any felonies on your record.

Its pretty simple but takes time.

Look up the dept of corrections in your state and that should get you started.

You know...guards working in those places have said its just like being a prisoner doing time yourself. Think about the environment your going to be put into. You should look into going to a police academy and doing something great in your neighborhood. I think its more rewarding.
