  1. I am sorry to have to be the one to tell you but it would take years to become a shaman's.. You would have to know how to deal with evil spitits... You would have to know what plants cure what ailment.... You would have to be a Doctor, psychologist, You would have to have a knowledge of plants second to none....  You would have to be a paranormal expert, lawyer... And then you would have to be a pastor... Or religious leader..... Shaman are trained since childhood..........And you would have to be on call 24/7.................

  2. why do you want to be a shaman? if you can give me a good reason, i will tell you, but i doubt you can, and i doubt you will email me. its all about time for you people isnt it? well guess what, time is a luxury, and you cant always have that luxury and get what you want at the same time. the easy way is usually the worst one.

  3. Becoming a shaman is not something you just pop up and become the way you are making it seem. Shamans usually have dreads or long hair and a beard and they usually practice ancient arts of magic and wisdom. Shamans are usually elders or older adult men as well. You have to fast a lot and know a lot about other diverse wisdom's and knowledge's.They wear shamanic type of necklaces stuff from different tribes etc. A lot of foreign men are usually shamans not usually Americans they are mostly to caught up into organized religion.

  4. Try reading some of the books written by Carlos Castaneda.

Castaneda studied a Doctorate in Anthropology based on Mesoamerican Shamanism with research that took him to converse and to train with several of these shamans.

Whether you regard these books as factual or story telling is for you to decide, they have been hailed both as revolutionary and as pure works of fiction over time. Personally i take them as both - fact based but embellished to make a book interesting enough to read rather than presented as a doctoral paper.

I added a couple of links in the references here, but be mindful you are talking about a way of life here and not something immediately attainable. :-)

  5. Where are you located?  There are classes in certain areas that you can take, just depends on where you live. Or you can travel to a location if you find something worth traveling for.

    This one looks good-

  6. you have to join a tribe first

  7. i aint tellin you. you might turn me into a hippo or something >.>

  8. First you need to decide exactly what area of Shamanism appeals to you. From there you should read as much as you can to determine if you're up to the task. The life of the Shaman isn't an easy one nor is it part time. Understand that you may be called upon at any time, day or night. Only then would I suggest seeking a teacher or guide. No need to waste their time or yours. Good Luck

  9. Google Colleen Deatsman.  Ignore the people that tell you that its stealing from the Native Americans because ALL tribal people have had a shamanic practitioner.  Even the word "shaman" does not come from any Native American lingo.  Wikipedia actually has a fairly accurate description.

  10. it starts with 4 days in the mountains, and a sweat lodge.
