How to become a teacher?

im an international student from Japan and have been attending a college for 2 years. Im thinking about becoming a teacher in America. I am not sure that I will teach English for kids or Japanese in any school. If i will be so, what degree do I need to have?

  1. You need to take education courses in college and in your final year of school you will student teach and have to pass several certification exams.

    That is what is required in the state of PA and is probably similar in all states!

  2. In the US, educations system is divided into 2 parts:  K~12 th grade, college +

    for k~12, you'll need a teaching credential.  That means going thru a program in any 4 year uni that offers the credential.

    if you want to teach college and beyond, you usually only need to prove competency (usually by showing your diploma to the dean) or since you'll be teaching language, a native status usually suffices.

  3. dandruff, you need to smell like moths and cigarettes, have grey hair, moody, has no life, yellow teeth, clogs and greasy hair et voila


  4. You need a BA in educartion (Bachelor's Degree) and some cities/ schools require for you to also have a Master's Degree. You should find colleges that focus on education and then see which ones you like best and what they have to offer.
