How do i become an ornithologist does my middle school grade count what is being an ornithologist like.

  1. No, middle school grades are not going to matter much..but good high school grades will get you into a good university.  You should try and get a good background in the sciences: biology, chemistry, physics, physiology, etc.  The better your understanding of these subjects the easier these classes will be for you once you get into a university.  You should also train yourself to identify birds not only by sight..but by call or song.  You should get involved with your local Audubon group and attend their monthlyy bird walks in your neighborhood.  Also, start reading books on bird behavior, migration, nesting habits, etc. now you you will get a head start.

I am not an ornithologist so I can't comment on what it is like to be one but you need to learn biology and zoology and, maybe, veterinary science.  These require a good background in chemistry and math.  Your middle school grades will be long forgotten before you begin studying the sciences that really deal with birds.  If you really love birds and are really motivated to study, that is most of what you need.  good luck
