  1. I don't live in New Jersey, but if nobody else knows, this information may help.  You can check with New Jersey's state department of education or your local school district.  They are the ones who set up the requirements.  I live in Ohio and to be a teaching assistant here you must have one of the two following options...

    1.  high school diploma + continuing ed (workshops, conferences, etc... totalling 15hours/ year- maybe every two)

    or

    2.  high school diploma + successful passing score of the state paraprofessional test
