  1. Hi Amber,

Hiring a tutor to teach you would be expensive, and it may be difficult to find another family to teach you.

If your parents are too busy to directly teach you, you can buy a computer or textbook curriculum that will let you study mostly on your own.  At your age, much of the work can be done independently.

The first thing you need to do is be aware of your state's laws.  Here's a list of the requirements states use to determine their laws:

Here's where you can find a summary of the laws in your state:

If you want a self-teaching curriculum, you may want to look for a computer based program:

    Or textbook program:

You could also try a virtual public school which is a public school type program that you complete at home:

    Good luck!

  2. You could take online classes, lots of homeschooled kids do it

  4. You and your parents can look into other parents who home school their kids.  Many will accept another child with the same beliefs and levels of education.  In Alaska home schooling is common in rural areas and also in town where families know each other.  If you check this option, make sure your parents do a thorough back ground check.  I have a friend whose daughter is home schooled through another family, but they know each other through their church.  My friends daughter is allowed through the public local high school to participate in sports without attending the school as long as she keeps her grades up and resides in that district.  She is smarter than most of that school's students.  Good luck on your search.  Hope this helps
