  1. I do not think there is anything you can do to strengthen your mind for the military..

Your upbringing and environment have a huge role in how your mind is and all of our minds are different.

What you can do is fill your mind with knowledge this way you are prepared somewhat. Understanding what you are getitng into plays a huge role. Asking others and listening to thier experiences will also help you only if you take theirwords in.

Not everyone can use their mind in the same ways.

  2. Study history. Ancient history to current history. It will give you a better understanding of what's going on in the world today. Countries and civilizations have come and gone over the years and they usually have brought destruction on themselves.

Physically, lift weights twice a week and run three times a week will get you in shape and keep you there. Swim on the other two days.

See the following link about military fitness.

  3.    It's great to know what you want to do for the future.  Some of the most interesting 40 year-olds I know still don't.  You were asking what to do to get physically stronger. Walking is great exercise. Sadly, my character on Warcraft is more buff than I'll ever be in real life because my WOW character is determined to walk to their destination.  I did include a link for you.  Their supersite has some good pointers, and can help you out with basic exercise. Do a Yahoo! search for teen bodybuilding.  Do take a general multivitamin once a day, and drink it with milk, not a soda. Talking to a coach at school can be intimidating, but most coaches want to help kids who want to live a healthier lifestyle. Athletics may not be your thing, but you're at that age where it's fun to try out a sport.  Who knows, you may have a hidden talent at a sport not even YOU knew you possess.

You also asked what to do to get mentally prepared.  That, my friend, is your personal responsibility.  Success is measured by determination.  If that show is still on MTV, "Made" is a great template to watch.  I've never met you, so I can't determine what motivates you. This sounds cheesy, but this has been proven.  WRITE down your goals!!  Review those goals every 3 months and tweak them.  If you want to get a 3.0 GPA (or go for a 4.0 GPA!), then write down how you want to achieve that.  If you want a new car for your 16th birthday, write down how you're going to earn the money for that car in 2.5 years.  A good example of a person who writes down his goals, Matt Leinart.  Although it may seem that he's fallen out of that practice of writing his goals down now that he got what he wanted. (To any Leinart fans, I am purely speculating, and have no way to go up to Mr. Leinart and asking him.)  I hope this helps you find the answer to your question. I have to wrap this up because one of my goals is to quit procrastinating, and I'm procrastinating right now.  Good luck.

  4. The military can improve you mentally as well as physically, but you have to be prepared to allow for how that will happen.

Drill instructors constantly attempt to throw you off balance, mix you up, get you steamed. They do this to keep you on your toes, so you'll be able to respond to changing conditions in a split second, and with precision.

Take up a martial art and practice it diligently and with focus. This will assist you as you age. When you reach the age of enlistment, you can assess yourself and see if the military is the right choice for you.

  5. sleep in your back yard for a few days or go camping

  6. You can't just make yourself mentally stronger. It depends a lot on your environment,I did wrestling for 2 years and it help me become stronger mentally and physically.Wrestling is a very challenging sport mentally and physically, not many people can be constantly battling for control for 6 minutes and then maybe overtime.

So when you go into highschool I suggest taking up wrestling over other sports. You will learn many things.

  7. I'm very proud of you for actually thinking of serving your country in a time like this.  Physical strenght comes from working out evenly (not like a meat head) but running, weights, or even martial arts.  Watch what you eat daily (less greasy foods).  Mentally strength is a little bit harder to obtain.  It comes from experiences in life that make you a better and stronger person.  The saying "What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger" is something I live by.

  8. Spend a year in Iraq

  9. just dont be a little girl and poof your mentaly strong,as for being strong just run alot.lol you have along time until you should be worried about it.
