  1. Get a job at a helpdesk, and take any job required, work long hours and always volunteer for the after hours work  Become an admins helper. Study CCNA and MS coursewear.

  2. Study and take certifications like Network Admin or different MS courses like MCP.

  3. if you want to work in the network fiend as a network administrator i would suggest start looking at Cisco books and get certified since everyone out there wants to see that piece pf paper not to mention that you would have an advantage over the people who don't have certs.

also, whether you think so or not, a good place to get SOME experience is a call center and/or help desk - everyone i know in the networking field has started there and you will have lot's of down time to read books.

talk to people you may know in the industry and ask them if you can "volunteer" to help out with some projects that they may have going and your pay would be the experience you gain from them.  also see if there is anyone hiring for "monkey" work - such as cabeling, racking and stacking - anyone can do that but you will also gain knowledge of other things along the way.

by the way, i am a network engineer and my husband is a senior network engineer - we both started this way and it works.  all our network geek friends have done the same and are making well over 100,000 a year.

if you have any questions, email me and i will be happy to assist you - good luck.
