Anyone have tips on becoming an Ontario provincial police officer. Iam in grade 11, what collage course should i take?

  1. I would recommend that while in high school, take any courses in law, psychology, communications, etc. as you will be doing courses like that in Ontario Police College or in a college Police Foundations program.

    You don't need to have a Police Foundations (or Law & Security) diploma from a college to be a police officer in Ontario or Canada, but it is an asset, especially for a high school graduate who does not have as much "life experience".

    All Ontario Provincial Police recruits go to OPC (Ontario Police College), whether or not they have Police Foundations. Therefore if you have completed PF, then OPC will be much easier on you.

    Any volunteer experience is also key to getting hired as an OPP officer. Getting involved with the community shows your dedication to helping people and making a difference, which is what the OPP wants in its officers.
