How to bleach a water stained and blackened wood (birch) to bring it to it's real colour?

This is just a guess but after my summer of outdoor work I'd go buy deck stripper. You paint it on then spray it off. It took a grey deck and put it back to it's original color.  It will remove stains/mold/water etc. Good luck. Don't get any on you...you'll end up with burn holes like I did and it shouldn't take much.

You already answered it Bleach. Pour bleach on it and put it in the sun. it should work almost instantly.
