Question:

How to bleach grouting and baths?

All of the grouting in my bathroom is starting to get discoloured, so I thought it would be a good idea to bleach it, but I have never used bleach for cleaning before. Is there any particular way to do it? I was just going to apply the bleach neat, leave it for a few seconds and then scrub off with a cloth.

Also, the sides of my ceramic bath are starting to get grey, can I bleach them? Again, I have no idea how to go about it so any suggestions would be very welcome!

  1. you can get a cleaning product such as soft-scrub which contains bleach.  It is a very safe, non scratching cleanser.  Just squeeze it on, rub it in with a sponge or cloth.  on the grout, i would take an old tooth brush and rub it in and let it sit for at least 20 minutes and wash it off with fresh water.

  2. Put bleach in spray bottle, dilute about 50/50 and spray away.  If it isn't working, put more bleach in.  You can leave on for quite a while.  It will not hurt anything.  No sense in buying products that have bleach in them--they are more expensive, and you can basically do it youself.  Good Luck!   ++
