How to block a number and thus preventing that person to call?

i wanna block someone so he cant call me anymore. I got call display so if i look at it i know not to pick up, but the guy keeps callin me, i want him blocked. I called my service provider and they said they cant (or dont wanna) do anything.. is there a way?

you can block that if you phone supports call barring that is usually found in the settings of a phone..

There are several pieces of software available to do that for you, if you have caller id service. My favorite is PhoneTray, which you can check out at http://phonetray.traysoft.com/

Note: this software does not prevent the call from coming in; it just answers it, plays a message of your choice (including the one the phone company uses when your line has been disconnected), and hangs up. With this, he'll get the message fast enough.
