How to book Indian Railways ticket online using IRCTC site for Onward Journey?

I am not able to find how to book an online indian rail ticket using IRCTC website for onward journey. Is it I have to book a separate ticket? Suppose I want to come to Bangalore via Chennai from Howrah does it mean I have to book teo different tickets between Howrah and Chennai, and, Chennai and Bangalore. In that case I will end up paying more money.

I can book this two tickets simultaneously at the reservation counter (with onward journey, less amount). However, online I am not able to find any link with this feature!!! If anybody knows any clue regarding this please help.

Hi,

I persume you want to reach banglore without any stay or transit in chennai.

Then in that case you can try these trains  

1)Train number 2510 guakhati to banglore running on Mon, Tue Wed starting from guakhati and reaches in the midnight arround 00.45 hrs in howrah Junction and leaves by 01.05hrs and reaches 3 rd day morning11.05 hrs

2) train no 2863 runs all days from howrah and goes upto yeshwantpur which is a sububun area of banglore or else you can get down at krishnarajapuram and take a taxi for your location in banglore.

3)one more train is from muzaffar nagar and leaves every monday Train number is 5228  and touching through howrah and reaching yeswnat pur  like the 2863  train

Please go and enquire in the website in irctc.co.in for which you may have to be a registered member and this is being a secured website u can book ur ticket for these trains  on line.

Suppose you want to break joureney in chennai u can do so in train no 2510  by getting the break journey endorsement in chennai station and get the rebooking with the same ticket by paying only reservation charges of 20 rupees or so otherwise u have to book only for chennai means u have try other trains and have to pay as per the rules.
